The Importance of Being Ernest (Honest)

I wrote this poem inspired by teachers in life.  They showed me what speaking ethics and not living ethics looks like.  They inspired me to look deeper into why honesty is important.  I saw love, clarity, decision making for the whole come to mind.  I realised that the game of deception is an immature game that yields a zero sum, ultimately for all. The term kidding yourself comes to mind. We only lie to ourselves when we lie to others. It is to mask our fear and until we have the courage of the empowered leader, can we face our fear and overcome it?  It is not about hiding our tracks, concealing our indiscretions or clever arguments to win – it is about coming clean, it is about sharing, caring, revealing, healing ourselves in order for the abundance of life to flow.

Note ethics are guidelines, values are universal.  The universal values are innate to us all, they are naturally there when we decide to go with values.  That would include: love, empathy, truth, compassion, happiness etc. Ethics are phrases like – telling the truth, doing the right thing, being visible, showing integrity.  People can live this or be seen to be.  This can be culturally defined or they can reflect codes of conduct for business practices.  Values, when lived are naturally unifying.  In the peace field, values are central to empowerment and community building.  Building community is like connecting a family through bonds of love.  The feeling of love is the glue that binds, it is not a belief that appears to build a foundation.  The foundation stone is reforming oneself, it is transformation through the alchemy of love, truth and peace.  These are the real foundations to a humanity that thrives.

In the world where people are not earnest, we think when we can’t see things they don’t exist, yet they do. We send signals as votes to life stating what we really think, as we think it is shapes the world into our image.  To take responsibility is to know this, to know this changes your world. I love the King Arthur legend, it often comes into my poetry as I feel inspired.  I love it for it is about equality, that is the truth of who we are.  What we do to others we do to ourselves, we are all connected and there is a universal awareness that knows.  Nothing in reality is hidden.  Eventually we will have to face ourselves.  Everyone pays the piper.

A poem inspired by my teachers who speak ethics but don’t live them yet. The truth will set them free.

The Importance of Being Ernest

The ethical dilemma:

Is time money?

Or is the currency beyond time?

Do we have time to think and feel

the shape of a re-new-able future?

Do we… ?

Trade ethics for productivity theorems?

Contract wages for activity?

Secure tenure for uncertain futures?

Escape burdensome social obligations for mutual obligation in social contract theory?

Informed debate or pragmatic reality?

Independent opinions for loyalty?

As group think moulds the state of play,

Is this really the way you want the clay to inform?

Now let’s investigate economics,

Is it rational when people are seen as commodities when they are not?

When results are evaluated on balance sheets as bottom lines? Is that true calculus?

Why not Agora’s of excited challenge,
Sands of thoughts polishing the real pearl?

In arena’s of competing thoughts challenging paradigms that don’t work,

Poverty mentalities create what is feared,
Is that the psychology of winning?

What of toxic environments where many do not know inner philosophical wisdom,

the inner creates the outer as truth (reality),

For they are losing their belief in a higher choice!

The world is changing my dear friends,

Will it be a fight to the bottom?

Or will it be the beginning of a new enlightenment?

It is not about right/wrong but what works!

We all choose there is no chance,

For new realisations create a new space station from a higher perspective,

A new forum of democratic inquiry,

A social forum beyond class and race,

Was King Arthur magical or fact?

Where knights sit at the round table,
There is no head as leaders serve for good,

The great place setters of equality,

A Lincoln equi-lateral triangle of balance, discovering peace as positive change,

Representing the feminine and masculine not as contrite gender politics of sexuality,

Where perceived opposites complement,

Opening new insights birthed from emotional intelligence that feels for inner landscape to in-form sensitively the outer re-structure,

As ‘All for One and One for All’ crosses swords to fearlessly face all threats as opportunities for adjustment in disguise,

For this is the uni-vers-ity of future options,

That discards worn out doctrines that pauperise and distress,

As pragmatic realists get the dirty work done echoing the razor gangs,

Chanting mantras of productive endings,

For only the few,

Why not:

Renewable visions of infinite abundance as learning is endless?

Degrees of freedom for empathy and respect towards honorary fellows?

Render a future ready for fantastic innovation and creative differentiation that moves, adapts and innovates for in infinite directions.

Yet today the merchant ship is overloaded listing as standards are poor,

A mutiny on the bounty exchanges the gold bar for stocks as bonds,

Sinking treasure chests of conquested bounty,

Watching empires silently fall off the wall like domino effects,

For competing interests did not cultivate the contour of character as evolved cultures,

It was the carrot and the stick that motivated change,

Choosing profit over people

blighting the captains with industrial averages,

Deceptive deals did not secure the wealth of nations instead encasing the rust of distrust,

Running down earth systems in the name of progress became egress and regress,

Where the sum of the parts didn’t know the whole story,

Disconnecting the umbilical chord from the root of truth is indeed the missing link in chains of compliance,

For truth is not fragmented or fractured,

Nor is it authoritatively validated,

It is the truth of who we are when we stop thinking,

To learn to see and then look for the space in the synapse gap,

Resting in deep silence between ethical conduct

as unity and over activity as security.

To realise the key questions:

Who am I when I am not working (busy)?

Why am I here (on earth)?

Is this truly my mission in life (purpose)?

What would bring me the greatest happiness?

What do I truly want?(choice)

I know the answers:

What I believe will be the future,

I create the reality in my image (imagination),

I am responsible 100%
for the world of my
making (thoughts believed)

There are infinite possibilities (opportunities).

Love is …(you)

What will love (you) choose next?

These are key codes opening the portal to a new possible future beyond belief,

As we select from possibibility by choice,

Decisions recalibrate the new earth grids to a new trajectory without unethical technology,

All service must be above self interest,

Moving all beyond space and time as analogy,

Beyond patterned thoughts and conjecture.

Negative projection is the mind pattern never questioned but blindly followed,

Thus, unwittingly selecting our demise,

For to hurt others with impunity uses universal laws not for lofty heights of natural justice,

Alas for containment and damage control

in the belief that the fearsome times are upon us,

Yet the Bunjil is the creator of all natural and living things in truth.

There are many realms in higher knowledge that is not analytical but venturing into the mystical,

The value of the human spirit soars beyond life and death,

The inspired human potential is exponential when released from bondage,

Many answers await humanity in peaceful compassionate comm-unity of shared ethics,

For ethical arguments are not intellectual discourses on right and wrong,

They move onto the higher ground of …

self worth (love),
recognition (see)
and realisation (knowing),

A real world curriculum re-patterning your world beyond survival mentalities and powerlessness,

Inviting the true abundance of infinite choice,

For a universal democracy always votes for what is wanted as the best possible future,

Aware that choice is what you create as truth.

I ask you:

So, what is the importance of being earnest?

Seriousness limits questioned thinking

ushering in the future of a zero sum game for all,

And this is when all lose the point of creative enlightened problem solving with the whole in mind,

For all young people are looking to you,

waiting for your answer!

Will you answer the call?

Just-in-time.
