Unity in Diversity is the New Epoch

A NEW EPOCH

Writers block,

Is in the moment we go blank,

Our hands on the keyboard,

Our heart in our hands,

To find there are no words,

To write.

It is in the silence,

That life speaks,

For love is ever present,

When you live in the moment,

And in this moment,

I live.

So many lives are busy,

Filling in the spaces between words,

Imagining the past,

Envisaging the future,

But what if neither exists?

What if many are doing time?

Attaching to concepts and beliefs,

Fearful of not been seen to be,

What if one was to let go of all attachment to fear,

To simply be free to be,

One Self,

Does this amount to nothing?

The truth cannot be found in words,

For it is in nothing without a sound,

That truth emerges as

profound.

Is wisdom the sand or the pearl?

Is beauty in friction or is it smooth?

Does it stay in the same groove or does it shake things up?

For the truth is deeply hidden,

Thus ‘as above so below’.

Alternate truths are the sands that rub,

Should we call them wrong?

Yet the smooth sand in the hourglass also marks time,

For we are at one minute to midnight,

It is late in the day to have lost our way.

Should we speak to those that differ?

Or choose to remain silent?

For many are swimming in schools of thought,

Flowing only in one direction,

Yet what if contrasting ripples intersect?

What if new ideas spiralled us upwards?

Could we work together for the common good of our humanity?

A genesis for a new epoch?

Perhaps this is the message of Enoch.

Mohandas Gandhi

“Gentleness, self-sacrifice and generosity are the exclusive possession of no one race or religion.”
