Halliburton-Landmark Holds LIFE Conference to Address the Digital Future of Oil & Gas

August 22-24, Westin Hotel Memorial City, Houston, Texas

HOUSTON – Halliburton announced its annual Landmark Innovation Forum and Expo (LIFE), the oil and gas industry’s premier business and technology event attracting super majors, independents, national oil companies, service companies and other participants from across the global exploration and production (E&P) value chain.

This year’s forum addresses the challenges that companies face as they navigate a rapidly evolving landscape and how digital technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud and big data analytics are transforming the way business is done.

As companies evaluate strategies and move to reduce costs and optimize production, they will need a greater understanding of the financial, technical and operational segments to be successful in today’s environment.

The event will assemble a diverse group of business and technical experts and industry thought leaders to share ideas on emerging technologies, generate increased collaboration and drive sustainable business value.

The agenda will be delivered through keynote presentations from innovators in oil & gas, digital business and IT alongside a technical program including more than 50 sessions and case studies. The majority of the technical program will be delivered by Landmark customers and members of the E&P community, who will demonstrate how they are creating and sustaining value through and beyond the current cycle. Special sessions including distinguished lectures, hands-on workshops, cloud training, a hackathon and poster discussions delivered on the last day by the extended iEnergy® academic, developer, partner and user community. Topics for three days will cover the entire E&P lifecycle and include:

  • Innovative science in exploration, reservoir, drilling and production
  • Digital E&P transformation in cloud, mobility and big data analytics
  • Smart and Connected E&P™, software-as-a-service, automation and cloud integration
  • OpenEarth™ Community, fostering the industry’s only open platform for domain specific application development

“Re-imagining the oil and gas industry is critical today and happening in many different forms. LIFE 2017 provides the space for the community to jointly explore and share digital experiences and increase scientific intensity in our organizations,” said Nagaraj Srinivasan, senior vice president, Landmark and Halliburton Digital Solutions. “This year we will explore the digital links between operators and oilfield services including the application of secular breakthroughs like cloud, IoT, artificial intelligence and data security alongside specific solutions offered by the provider community.”

LIFE has a strong lineup of speakers including R.A. Walker, chairman, president and CEO of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation; Johan Krebbers, IT CTO of Shell; Jim Claunch, vice president operational excellence of Statoil; Trond Ellefsen, special advisor digital transformation & strategy of Statoil; Jason Zander, corporate vice president of Microsoft Azure; Werner Vogels, chief technology officer at Amazon; Dr. Sean Gourley, CEO of Primer AI; Dr. Michael Grieves, executive director of Florida Institute of Technology & father of the term “digital twin”; Eric Carre, executive vice president of Halliburton; Nagaraj Srinivasan, senior vice president of Landmark & Halliburton Digital Solutions, and many more thought leaders from inside and outside oil and gas.
