Smart Cities Documentary

Are Smart Cities smart? Is sustainability about technology?  Or is it about human beings learning to live their true nature.  If the latter should we be self sufficient, using clean technologies to supplement lives that are self determining rather than plugged into sophisticated IT systems where the price paid is privacy?  That is my musing.  I am not sold on the idea.  It all looks good but we cannot even resolve conflict, we are not treating each other with respect, we still have massive inequality, poverty, injustice and starvation.  Is the problem really a technical one or is it how we relate as human beings.  For myself I see the problem as emotional disconnection as we are so identified with the thinking mind as a masculine proposition rather than an integrated civilisation where the feminine and masculine balance producing a balanced society.  It has to lead us to greater real freedom, not marketing but real say.  Thus consultation must happen.  I’ve not been asked at this point.
