Natural Wind Disaster or Human Gas Disaster?

I was starting to watch some footage of Hurricane Irma but my heart is asking me to look at Syria.  I haven’t watched the war.  The feeling is can we feel compassion for other people like our own? The US goes through its fears of disaster, so focused.  The Syrians are still suffering so lost.  One event is short lived the other is long endured with a despair that I cannot even fathom.  Are we each other’s keepers? Are these two worlds?

This is footage from CNN.  I felt compelled to post it as it tells of a human story.  They show footage of gas attacks through bombs.  My first thought is who supplied the chemical weapons? Can you imagine a disaster such as this that is deliberate?  Can we see into the faces of each person and see ourselves.  The commentator commentates and I felt a disconnection as only journalists can reflect as the narrative must be professional not emotional.  It feels descriptive.  What of empathy? What of philosophy? What of real questions regarding what our world is becoming? Not one mention of how to create peace? How to help these people? There is no help line or life line.  I find my heart musing about the humanity of us watching.

Perhaps harnessing wind power is the real key to proxy wars and global ecological stability?

I found this footage horrifying and made myself watch it as it is real people. It is a truly horrendous human caused disaster.   In one scene a man speaks to another, grieving his child, of heaven to bring comfort, he is right those who pass do go to another place. They are surrounded by love. They are shown their lives (life review).  The pain is unbearable for those who are left behind, feeling alone and in deep despair at their loss.

I send heartfelt love to the Syrian people.  I will keep working on peace.
