Do You Care for Others?

Creating Real Care

This poem is for those who dedicate their lives to give to others,

To care and to share,

To create and relate,

To smile and comfort those who are sick,

Those who are dying,

For the angels that walk into the ward,

Are rare,

For they truly care,

And have the courage to let go in time,

The strength to hold on when needed,

For the hand that holds hope,

Has the strongest grip on life,

For only you know the reality of life and death.

It has been my privilege,

It has been my honour,

To spend time with those in-kind,

For art therapy is not only playing with children,

It gives hope,

It creates a dream,

It touches fantasy,

And dreams can be real,

For children paint homes, sail on boats and see smiling faces in their family,

They feel their future in the moment,

And they are guided to express their hearts,

To reconnect with their feeling,

For humanness is in the tenderness of touch,

To be allowed to laugh and to cry,

To feel to smile and to fly,

For oncology is a treatment,

Yet it is how we are treated,

That is the ecology of who we are.

So with this tribute I send to you,

Never forget the truth that we share,

For I would never have met you if I didn’t care,

I came for free to see,

And found the beauty of your therapy.

For I am one that believes in true love,

And I believe it is this that sets us free,

To believe in miracles,

To smile at death,

For I can see that you are the present,

You are the gift,

Too precious to define in words,

And sometimes words can never fairly express the truest feeling,

Or the highest thought,

But know that my words come to meet you

On the middle

path.

Many families hold you in their prayers,

They will never forget your beautiful face,

For Buddha gave the deepest peace and kindness to you,

As you gave to a child a chance to taste life,

For your race is always against time,

But with dignity you give,

With freedom you allow,

With generosity you share,

And with love you care.

I am grateful to have spent rare moments

With you, Dr Atapol and Cherry,

For I will never forget you,

Those moments are held in my heart mirror,

And it is no wonder why I wanted to come back to reflect,

To see you,

But I understand you also have much to do,

And I respect you,

And one day I will show you,

We are one heart beating a rhythm in time,

For shadow puppets will tell the story of

real hope in the future.

So perhaps one day,

I will see you,

As friends,

For life is a circle of friendship,

It is a friendship ring,

Where all hold hands creating real care,

As concentric rings reach out to the world,

Know that all your actions make a difference,

And overtime indifference will disappear,

When we see ourselves in each other.

In peace,

A peacefull clown
