Thank You for Making Peace Visible
All random acts of kindness, consideration and thoughtfulness make peace visible. This is a tribute to all those who work in the background helping humanity, offering a kind and helping hand, visiting those alone, supporting others and generally being a light in the darkness. You are seen and your light is like ripples, changing the world. Keep on keeping on.
MAKING PEACE VISIBLE
This is a poem,
For those who have worked so long in the background,
Making peace visible in random acts
Of kindness.
True leadership leads from below,
It is to know,
That to serve others is the greatest strength,
For there are seldom accolades or ticker tape parades,
When the work is …
functional,
Practical,
Sustainable,
Capable.
Much is taken for granted in a busy world,
Too busy to stop and talk,
Too busy to peacefully walk,
Too busy to reach out and inquire with depth,
For many are on imagined paths in imagined communities,
They have no time to laugh at the game,
For we are indeed playing a game,
That is playing out the same song,
And whistling dixie to a different tune.
This is a tribute to those that give to live,
Who share to care,
And smile to heal,
It is to acknowledge the kindness, warmth and presence,
For that is the present you give everyone,
As little notes of thanks make a difference,
In a world often thank less.
You are the candle in the darkness that shines brightly,
Connecting rather than making contacts,
Accepting rather than judging,
Helping rather than being seen,
For we are one family under the one sun,
And in truth we are here for the lightness of fun,
For happiness is the brightest light,
Shining a true sense of comm-unity,
As the kite is uplifted on unseen thermals,
Dancing across the winds of time.
True peace is in allowing life,
For it flows in spirals of infinite wisdom,
And there are no mistakes
when imperfection is known as perfection,
For I am learning to laugh at myself in my folly,
As joy is my constant companion today,
As inner peace illuminates another way,
Accepting diversity in its full colour spectrum,
No matter the thought,
No matter the face,
No matter the tenure,
Woven gently into a tapestry of grace,
For all are worthy and playing an important role,
And it is my goal to break the mold,
And return to my true nature,
That sees myself in the other,
Perhaps this is what it means to be
a lover of life.
