Focus on the Future: Eco Villages Are the Future
Values are so important for future communities. Where we come together in an attitude of community.
Local Government or national Governments can sit down with local groups and support sustainable areas.
In my view when economic systems collapse people will need to know how to live off the land and there is no reason why technology can be in support of living simply and in harmony with nature.
Slowly we are starting to understand how important it is to live with nature not dominate it. When we intelligently think it through we can create another way. Moreover, it is learning to develop communities with a psycho social awareness.
At the end of the day it is to really reach for the ideal of happiness when we learn how live together without avoiding our neighbours but seeing them as family. Some of the research I’ve done in the past showed me that often with youth problems, the kids were disconnected from their community, the community didn’t know their names. So when there is a conscious design of community.
I just wrote a piece and then deleted it. I just heard the former premier of Queensland talk about water as liquid gold. The paragraph I just wrote wa an intuitive connection to this subject. I saw a documentary of village people in the Amazon mining for gold they were flushing mercury into the pristine water. The Amazon is one of the wonders of the world that is slowly being destroyed through commercial interests and poverty. Mercury is toxic to humans affecting the body. Therefore exposure can damage the brain and nervous system. The developing brain of a fetus or child is especially vulnerable to organic mercury exposure. Inorganic forms of mercury primarily affect the kidney, but are also neurotoxins. Other organs and systems of the body can be harmed by exposure to mercury. Brazil has to find other forms of liquid gold and this is where partnerships between government and people can be very positive. If you want reelection serve the people. It is not rocket science it is changing our priorities and understanding when we help each other we help ourselves.
I am observing we are becoming disconnected from each other and nature. Until we reconnect with each other, open the heart to deeper understanding and love of each other we cannot move the world forward. It has to come through enlightened thinking where we don’t just react for survival, if you have a faith call on it. Imagine the way you want it to be. It matters not if you are poor or rich, we have powerful minds and we can create new ways out of our current problems. My recommendation would be to start now.
The material life without any conscious understanding of life, love and happiness working only for self interest is out of harmony, it is an empty life. I know I’ve lived it and seen it all around me. Many across the world are grapsing for this life and being encouraged, calling it progress. We in the material West are starting to graple for simplicity and philosophies. Poverty that eeks out a living and works for peanuts does not buy happiness either and is open to exploitation for those seeking out cheap labour. It is when people say no and follow their higher nature that we start to work together for a better world. The idea of being a victim is really about believing we have no choice. No choice is a choice. I’ve had no money and had to trust and it worked for me. I’ve made higher decisions in harmony with nature. It is for the future of children that we must make higher decisions for the greater good.
So I wanted to add this philosophical note as I felt inspired to write it in connection with living in harmony with nature. I am not sure how effective Currumbin is in terms of ecological footprint and minimum waste, but it is encouraging to see Government working in harmony with the people. That is the real message of this blog.
