Why is the World the Way it is?

I’ve heard this statement so many times.  Often it is premised by ‘if god loves us why then is there so much violence, famine and cruelty in the world’?  The answer of course is free choice.  The virtues of humanity are inherent in all people, we have a choice in every moment, do we choose fear or love?  The answer is we shape our world and are responsible for it.  If you want a new world then you choose one.

I love this clip by Black Eyed Peas ‘Where is the Love’.  I feel it is a very accurate portrayal of some of the core issues that move us away from peace.  It is the story of all countries and all people, as the discrimination, inequality, injustice and negative influence for children is a fact of life for all people in one moment or another, so it is not focussed on one country but all. I see it in all colours, but when we blend together in harmony we become white light.

There is no them or us, what we see in our world is a reflection of us. It matters not if it is small or large, the negativity is there and the responsibility to own it is ours. As we change our world changes.

A few images in the clip affected me, one was the soldier crying, a story that few of us really hear as it would undermine the military as it reveals humanity, which many are trained to suppress.  I saw children with guns and thought of the toy guns or violent games we give children, in truth the reality is not fun.  I just recently saw on television a story on child soldiers written by a Sudanese refugee here in Australia. He said the militia would recruit children when they were taller than the MK47.  He describes he as a little boy terrified the gun would go off.  He was lucky he was too short.  The soldiers will come back when they are bigger and then they train them day in day out to kill, rape and steal.  The boys are indoctrinated and carry the scars for the rest of their lives.  The consciousness of those training them is limited he say’s, the commanders can’t see any other world than the narrow world they have been exposed to.  They see no other possible future.   As I was watching the clip I was feeling love all around us, it is to see the love in life and I can assure you it is in the smallest of actions, it is in nature, it is in a smile.

What I have learned is if you want to choose love then choose it in every thought, word and action. You can no longer live the life of criticising others, blaming, or negativity. You start to take personal responsibility as being the creator of your reality. You may not be able to change global events, but you can start with you and live by example. Other’s, I can assure you, will notice when you don’t join in the complaining and disempowerment, as many are too afraid to take responsibility, they see it as too hard. Be love, Be Truth and Be Peace. There is no greater way to live.

For myself, today I walked around in complete joy, I feel it within and it is because I have chosen love in my life. Now I choose to be of service to others to bring happiness to other’s lives. I find I go where I need to, life leads me and I am no longer in control. I feel deeply at peace. So be the change you wish to see in the world (Gandhi).

I have written a poem called ‘Love Letter to Humanity’ which I sent President Obama. That is posted below the clip.

So here is the answer to the question ‘why is the world the way it is?’  Enjoy

Love letter to Humanity

Every communication is a love letter,
Every word is an open invitation,
To greet life with openness,
To accept diversity in its full spectrum,
To allow differences of opinion to expand awareness,
As a garden resplendent with seasonal blooms,
Our nature understands the plumes of life’s bouquet are secret signatures sending messages of love,
Fertilizing our inner growth with goodwill and wellbeing,
As the earth spins and orbits around a universal love that is a given.

Harmony is the love that serves all others,
Beauty is the inner love that sees your uniqueness of expression,
Friendship is the love of trust that leaves deep impressions,
Families are the branches of love from the tree of life,
Compassion is the love that sees myself as you,
Charity is the love that gives you a hand up so you may stand up,
Nonviolence is the love that never harms another,
Peace is the love that allows the invisible hand of creation,
For peace rests beneath our conflicted thoughts,
And universal love is unity that knows no separation in thought, word or deed,
As true love is the truth that sets you free.

World peace is a peace-full world that loves,
Emerging from the ashes of misunderstanding,
To walk in harmony with our true nature,
Offering blessings to all crossing the path,
Orchestras of nature’s perfection singing love songs,
Allowing love to find its natural well-spring,
As well-being springs from undercurrents of feeling,
Inspired by the source of love itself,
Loving itself naturally,
As the pond of life’s reflection,
Smiles upon the face of all creation,
Sending love letters home to our friends, family, strangers, comm-unity and world,
That home is where the heart is,
And everyone is welcome home,
To a world that loves without condition.
