Lead by Example

My mother said to me once, you go out and change the world, I am too old. I looked at her and said, everyone is responsible for the world mum, it doesn’t matter your age. Just stand up for what is true for you. It is not my job, it is every persons. She smiled as she knew this was true. Standing up for me is simply speaking the truth nonviolently and with deep respect for all people. The beauty of democracy is that we can speak up. Having travelled the world I know what a gift is freedom of speech. It would be lovely to hear your voice, even if it differs from mine, I will be happy you actually shared, rather than remaining silent. As Patch Adams said to we clowns, we are all great, we give it up by 40. We all make a difference and there is no person that is not great, when each person chooses to face it, no exceptions folks. The funny part is we are afraid of our greatness. I am inspired by it.

LEAD BY EXAMPLE

Social construct theory,
Constructs a theory about the social world,
As socialization instructs social content,
A contented society does not rock the boat,
As one stands in the back and beyond,
Ensuring one is not seen in the bright lights,
For to be so bold renders one vulnerable to a coliseum of critics.

Political representation is a theory unfounded and over funded,
The blending of democracy and politics asserts the idea of freedom of speech refabricated as the party machine of industry,
For a brave new world is untouched by the philosopher’s stone.

Dumbing down is to conform without reason,
An aura of unity managed for every season,
As the establishment of order becomes an immovable mountain shadow,
Rather than a radical Sermon on the Mount,
For no longer are there large rallies,
Only the rallying cry of political action committees,
Seducing the rich and powerful for fear or favour,
A subversion of democracy of the lowest common denominator,
Dominates the global commons over the common sense of the sentimental bloke.

Business-as-usual signals a silent uniformity,
A false sense of security as there is no panic on the sinking ship,
The ice-bergs are melting as the poles start to shift,
The dark rift valley is out of alignment with the common good,
The freemasons of wisdom chiseled hieroglyphics of long forgotten meaning,
Superseded by branded icons in search of a new identity.

The people have lost their power of purpose,
For they know the purpose of power,
A spectator sport outside stone walls,
As the castle of power entombs the tower of Babylon,
And the moat renders policy by remote control,
As one switches channels in a matrix of manufactured choices.

The rising see level marks climate change,
As we stumble over cobbled stones of poor choices,
Mesmerized by a mass media peddling a 2020 summit vision – impaired,
Where peak oil is the coal mine without the canary,
On an island of denial,
As many sail on the surface of dry docks,
Becoming stranded in salty graveyards,
To symbolize the end of our common era.

To catch the boat is to be an early arrival,
To sit up front as a beacon of virtue,
Joins hands to stand up and be counted on,
For these are the times where one must be seen and heard,
Democratic empowerment is a new continent of unexplored heights and flowing courses,
Values exchanges peppered with the alluvial gold of limitless possibilities,
For the new civilization is a good idea whose time is approaching fast.

Therefore – to have the faith of a mustard seed can indeed move mountains,
Genetically unmodified seeds of hope empower natural pre-selection for a new harvest,
As the passion fruit blossoms into a forum of renewable ideas,
Sustaining the fools who venture off the cliff of uncertainty,
Where attitudes on Capital Hill elevate to higher altitudes,
Reshaping the alternating currents of love,
Feeling the presence of un-shore winds of change,
Whispering that true power resides not in one vote one value,
But the power of free radicals circulating real hope to the people.

To lead by example is the model of true freedom,
Catalyzing an imagined future as a prototype,
Where dreams become realised as the real deal,
Just-in-time.

Mohandas Gandhi

“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
