Global Citizen’s Voices Want Corruption to STOP
What is corruption but the dis-ease of greed out of control. It is when checks and balances fail and there are no figures in authority who have genuine moral/ethical standing. From my understanding when people do not have well developed empathy, intuition or compassion they tend to watch to see what others do or say about corrupt activities. It is interesting to note that people follow the crowd on the whole and very good people can allow for corruption as that is the way things are done around here. They feel powerless or afraid to SPEAK UP. Yet if everyone spoke up together there would be nothing to fear, but perhaps one starts the ball rolling. However, societal ethics and values are to be questioned if they think it is better to just focus on themselves and don’t worry about. The world is like this, what can you do? No one listens.
I would say nothing is impossible and if your heart tells you to speak then speak because betrayal of self is the highest betrayal. People lose trust in institutions, individuals and their society when they realise it is corrupt and indifferent to them. What we want is to turn this ship around and revitalise ethics, values and not only doing good but being good as stewards in a world in need of REAL HOPE.
Corruption when it flourishes causes a lot of pain to people and diverts people from their lives as they have to stand up and do the work to make visible corruption. It is everyone’s responsibility if corruption does not reflect who you are. We all get to choose (vote).

Around the world nearly 1 in 4 people said that they paid a bribe for public services in the 12
months prior to when the survey took place.
