Russian Kin School A Future Model of Education?

This video features an enlightened approach to education.  I love the idea of using information to improve the quality of life.  The school teaches that thought is the creator of reality and what is important is awareness of your life purpose.  The children learn about spirituality and its link to nature and that every grain is part of the whole.  I liked the fact that there was a critique in the film, that is a sign of open mindedness, it opens the mind to possibilities when we allow for critique.  My observation is that the boys are wearing military clothes and my hope is that the schools of the future will focus on unique clothing (individuality) and peace.  I really liked the idea of emersion in a subject rather than fragmented subjects.  I really enjoyed learning they encourage questions.  People are taught that it is okay to not know but you can find out the answer yourself.  The emphasis in this system is growing as a person.  They get together and discuss how they grew as a person over the day, they are also involved in developing their own learning.  The emphasis on oneness with nature, community, purpose, creating, empowerment, participation, living in the moment and equality.

There are messages for all school systems and the typical focus on literacy and numeracy, occupations and social roles.  In our school system in Australia is easy to see conformity, large class sizes, set curriculum and rote learning.  It is not about life skills which is critical as a foundation for preparation for life.  To know yourself is very important, particularly given the challenges of the future.  People have to be able to problem solve, work together and question.

Please note the film looks like it is ending but there is more information, so keep on watching it is inspiring.

“If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children.”
