The Wisdom of Forrest Gump is the Value of Diversity
The greatest wealth is in knowing the value of diversity. I do not want people to think like me, I am simply expressing what I think as I demonstrate democracy. My blog is my vote.
What I love about this story is that it flushes up simplicity as the real wealth, how one sees is the true beauty, and what one speaks is the communication of a flower opening its sweet scent.
I have clowned with the disabled, mentally (so called) impaired, HIV, deaf (so called) dumb and what I found was the greatest beauty was in those who society regards as simple or idiots. I found them to be, in many case, more peaceful and truly loving. I looked at my own culture and saw the hardness, the coldness, the disconnection and the unhappiness. I saw it in my family at times. I knew that life was about happiness as this feels good, why create a world that doesn’t? I know today we are learning who we are not to realise who we are so I can accept that now. But when I see people who are down syndrome or different I have this inner and outer smile as I look at their beauty. I am so fortunate to have been in many situations with the so called disadvantaged to find myself inspired by their kindness, love and inclusivity. I see this has the highest intelligence and the real wealth of any nation.
Tom Hanks is a great actor.
Something to consider.
