Corporate Dirty Money and Denial of Responsibility

This is a very interesting series.  I see denial and a disconnect in respect of responsibility.  What I found interesting was the poor people who were exploited was not understood by those in charge.  I am seeing more that until you go through an experience some people can’t feel empathy for the pain they caused those they ripped off in order to fund a lavish lifestyle.  The narrative continues to blame others but not take responsibility.  That I watched with interest as I contemplate corruption, self interest and entitlement.

No understanding of how this man caused homelessness, hunger, freezing (no heat), marriage breakups, foreclosures, stress, distress, loss of trust and faith in their society as they were ripped off with impunity.  This company charged a $90 financial fee on $300 small loan, then if the person doesn’t act in some way, apparently they charge another $90 (as a loan roll over fee not a replayment) and this continues until the nth week where the first payment of interest is paid $50.  So it looks like a loan of 300 they pay 90 + 90 + 90 + 90 + 90 + 90 + 50 + 90 + 50 + 90 is the way it worked.  This is the charges to the poorest people where they go without food, or car repayments, or power as a result of being tricked into financial fees that roll over the loan rather than repay.  The owner of the company lived the high life, he had his own jet, was a racing driver, had mansions and saw himself as a good business man.  He couldn’t see that he was a thief.  He felt entitlement. Whenever I hear this word now I see more clearly what it means.  Greed is what is encouraged by an economic system that has no concept of the harm it causes others as a result of activities that serve the self not others.
