Richard Branson Speaks about Entrepreneurs and Trump

What I particularly love about Richard Branson is his humility, such a rare trait these days.  He is a deep man with a generous spirit.  For me, he epitomises the entrepreneurs of the future.  He has the character traits that give confidence that business can be trusted.  The lack of morality in business is what is turning the tide against business.  The fact the planet is impacted by incessant growth without moral conscience is like a run-away train.

Whenever I hear him speak I wonder if I want to go down that path.  I chose to go the opposite direction because I was not impressed by business people and the superficiality (false face) and focus on money and status without regard for how this impacts on people.  I really love Richard Branson because he places people before profit and I think that is why he is so successful in business and as a person. The latter, in my view is the real success.  The world is in great need of ethical leaders who walk the talk and are not seeking to be seen to be so fame rubs off on them.

He speaks about Donald Trump and this is important to hear. He would epitomise unethical leadership. His point about the sycophant who seeks to please him. I thought of the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull saying when he was first elected and on a phone call that ‘we are both businessmen’.  Apparently Trump admires Australian off-shore detention centres.  Many Australian’s just shook their heads as the refugee issue is a point of contention here as they are treated in inhumane ways contrary to the 1951 Refugee Convention and Humanitarian law.  It seems Australian Government cruelty in respect of incarceration of refugees inspired him given the inhumanity of the Mexican issue.  Refer http://junkee.com/trump-border-australia/163907  This whole idea of jailing innocent people due to economic hardship (poverty) and treating them as illegal (criminalised) rather than solving the problem of poverty and organised crime (Mexico) is what entrepreneurs would look at.  Richard Branson spoke of good problem solving in entrepreneurship, I would assume this is due to uncertainty and risk, he too is a businessman. I am sure he wouldn’t use his skills to harm people.  That is what makes him stand out.  This reveals the importance of real ethics in business and governance. You can’t learn it in books it has to come from the heart of a person’s humanity.  Truth has to be part of this expression if it is to be real.  How many are real?

This interview is about Donald Trump and it reveals character.  I love that he has bare feet.  He is his own person.
