It is reported that Broadspectrum is referred to as a Australian company in references to the detention centre contractors. Broadspectrum was formerly known as Transfield contracted to run detention centres on behalf of the Australian government. They indicate they partner for smart city solutions.

Our solution significantly contributes to the ability of Government and Corrections Departments to positively impact recidivism in the Australian and New Zealand justice systems, as well as protect the community through the safe and humane management of offenders. We do this with care and dignity always and by working collaboratively with the community, NGOs, universities, Justice facilities and service operators.

Our local team is committed to building meaningful relationships with leading and effective community groups dedicated to reducing recidivism and are active participants in academic initiatives that aim for long-term social improvement.
We use our relationship with Ferrovial and U.K. based service provider, Amey, a Centre of Excellence in Asset Management and experience in Private Public Partnerships to balance operational efficiency with the rehabilitation and desistance responsibilities that come with working in the sector. Our collaboration enables a low-risk solution that draws upon learnings from sophisticated approaches in this space and our long history of outsourcing and transitions. Our partners can expect agile and ethical delivery with an experienced government service provider.
Information on Amey
Ferrovial bought the British company Amey in May 2003. In April 2013 it bought Enterprise, another British firm. The integration of Enterprise and Amey has given rise to one of the most diverse offerings in the UK.
The public sector is navigating the difficult economic environment and the acquisition of Enterprise takes on a special importance in this context. The acquisition allows Amey to offer a broad range of services and integrated solutions to deliver savings for its clients.
Amey has a workforce of 21,000, a turnover of over 3.1 billion euros and an order book of over 16.3 billion euros. Ferrovial Services manages over 320 contracts with an unrivalled service offering, from the maintenance of highway and railway infrastructures through to integral waste management and that of the life cycle of assets.
We thus duplicate our turnover in this market and decidedly step into providing services for the utilities services sector (energy companies, water supply, etc), while strengthening our position in environmental services. The operation is part of Ferrovial Services’ strategic goal of profitable growth, as the acquisition of Enterprise will create value through synergies derived from integrating it into Amey and strengthening its position in markets with high growth potential.
