Let Go of Grudges For Peace Sake
How many people hold on to grudges in life? How many nations never forget war? How many hurts are remembered? What if we were collectively to let go of Grudge, allow Grudge to disappear? Perhaps truth emerges from the rubble of sadness to resurrect new beginnings, to learn new lessons, to understand unconditional love is a solution. Of course this doesn’t mean to condone negative actions, it means to release yourself from the pain of holding the Grudge in fear that morals diminish. Only love is real in truth. Reflect on those on all sides who stoke the fires, those who fuel the anger then turn your attention to peace.
September 21 is the International Day of Peace. It is a day commemorating peace. It is about stopping all personal or group wars. It is about letting go of grievances to allow peace to take root even if for one day. Until peace becomes the seed in all gardens, grudge will fuel the fires of hatred. The choice as always … is yours. Choice is freedom and it defines the world that emerges for the children of the planet. They will follow your example.
The past is over, the future doesn’t exist. We all choose now. Right now I am in peace.
NB: This poem I believe was written by a relative. For myself, I don’t hold grudges. I tend to stand for what I believe but I don’t hold it against people. There is a difference in standing for what one feels will benefit others in the longer term and those who hold negative gudges as they feel aggrieved and don’t forgive, this can be seen as regarding the other as an enemy, demonising them etc. I never feel aggrieved, I feel positive towards all people but I can see the problem down the track of consenting to problems through appeasement. I believe in asking for truth but in a way that is positive and constructive. I want to make that clear.
LET GO OF GRUDGES FOR PEACE SAKE
Many people know Grudge,
They keep him hidden from truth,
They listen to his voice uncritically,
Believing everything he says as if gospel,
For they never stop to really ask,
Is it true?
Grudge divides friends with tit for tat,
He divides families who fall beneath expectations,
He divides nations with nuclear pretensions,
He is the silent anger that fuels criticism then silence,
He blames others for his pain rather than seeing the stain as the smudge
Grudge leaves in the eye of the beholder,
He never sits down quietly to really ask himself,
Is this Grudge really true?
Grudge seems a nice old familiar friend,
Who keeps you safe from harm,
He is like a security alarm warning off intruders,
He weeds out those who don’t listen to you,
He moves away those who don’t do it your way,
He reminds you that you are right and they are wrong,
He is the one that keeps you believing you are strong,
You are smarter,
You are in control,
Yet he has never been your friend in-deed,
He is just a role play in a never ending story,
He has never allowed you to truly shine
as the poet, the loving parent and civil libertarian living freedom,
For Grudge stops you from opening your heart to accept others
as they are in their freedom to choose,
To show you care despite differences,
He makes sure you keep those spitting embers alive,
Stoking them and stroking them to ensure the flame is fanned
as it feels alive and energised,
For if you let the fire go out you will disappear all fear of the dark,
So he gives you all the reasons why they are selfish,
Why they are mean,
Why they live in greed,
He makes sure you never forget their injustice as you ignore your own,
Like an old track that never changes its gauge
he will not let you jump to a new tune and play again,
He keeps you in circles estranged with deeper pain,
So you feel small, unloved and sweating at night,
Yet those you judged were always your greatest teachers and friends
for they always loved you,
As if God is testing you for the final exam to prove
that negativity is the real sham distracting you
from your greatness.
For true love is unconditional,
It doesn’t place limits on personal growth,
It allows people to be who they are without censure,
Whether you agree or disagree as a condition,
For you can never know the lessons they were here to learn in this life,
Unless you are an Omnipotent God.
The small voice does not carry Grudge,
The inner spark is the only voice that knows,
All are innocent,
All make mistakes,
All are different,
They were never meant to be you,
The small voice within knows the game the ego plays with Grudge as it causes fear,
FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real,
The ego will put down to make Grudge feel bigger,
The ego dances with Grudge and feeds him regularly,
Yet the ego is never honest and true,
It never loved you as sadness is your bedfellow,
It kept you angry and in pain,
For the world was never a bad place in truth,
It was always full of opportunities to learn, to grow, to show to you …
Who you really are.
In truth no two people see the same,
For life is a mirror reflecting back ourselves,
The speck in the other is the log in your eye,
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind,
You reap what you sew,
None of these platitudes are attitudes
they are deeper truths learned from deep pain and sorrow,
For Grudge is the barrow that only carries burdens,
Yet you can be freed from Grudge when you see the humour in folly,
When you see the game not push the trolley,
When you drop the name and ignore his presence,
For he was never real in essence,
He gives you many reasons to go to war with life,
Yet you can never win
for life is always kind when forgiven,
And to forgive is really to forgive your error,
That life should be different when reality is not,
The world should show up in your image not God’s,
For God in reality is love and love is truth (reality),
It is the real roof that needs no security or shelter,
It is defenceless and vulnerable as it is fearless,
It is open and free to choose,
For to love is to see,
There is no enemy,
When living in truth.
In truth:
You attract what you imagine, think and feel,
You think and feel as if real then attract,
What are you thinking?
For the law of attraction is the real energy response,
It is the moulder of the clay every day,
And you are the producer of the script,
You write your own story,
Yet your story can change as you change,
As you look for the good not the bad,
As you encourage rather than discourage,
As you plant your garden with new varieties,
You see fresh colours appear and aromas permeate,
You dig up the weeds of critical thinking,
You plant only perennials,
Letting go of annuals,
For you want a garden that flowers eternally,
You want to plant only the best seeds,
For this guarantees the best results,
You don’t control the climate you work with it,
You build up the soil of sustenance,
You feel peace is in your hands,
For your Garden of Eden is a breath away,
When you say to yourself….
I did this NOT Grudge,
I see the smudge was of my own making,
But now I can see to the rainbow horizon with clarity,
I see nature is accepting of all diversity,
I see I can participate and bring life then let go,
Without judgement or changing conditions,
For this is the true meaning of civil liberty,
This is the true freedom from which you were blessed,
A wise one said: Blessed are the peacemakers,
They are called the children of God (love),
As love is within you,
Your secret garden growing in peace.
