You Never Failed Be Who You Are
I have been told a few times in my life that I am a failure because I am not focused on money and making a name for myself. I laugh at this deep down because I know that I am tuned into who I am. I am working for peace in my world and the world at large. I do this because it brings me great joy. I have worked in 400 companies and experienced the reality of the daily working life. For me it was a learning experience but I saw people as predominantly imprisoned by debt and the idea that they ‘have to go to work’. I was fortunate in that I didn’t have children and didn’t get locked into societal expectations. I was free to drift, free to travel, free to read meaningful philosophy, free to be a clown, free to write poetry/philosophy, free to connect with my community, free to live and work for free. I absolutely loved it. It was full of uncertainty but I came to realise that that is the most exciting place to go. I have been judged endlessly by others who do not get this type of freedom and have never questioned their own mindsets. Even though they are not happy for them it is better to right and not happy. I take the other tack I believe it is better to be happy over right. What this really means is that so many will fight to be right so they can win rather than allow others to be who they are, and just be happy with diversity. There are deeply programmed mindsets that run for generations that tell us to ‘do the right thing’, exactly what is the right thing? is it what society tells us or is it our deeper feeling. For me I am realising that when I follow inner feelings of love and joy that this for me is right. For others right may be different. So who am I to judge if someone is a failure or they should live as I do. Perhaps they are living out their lives exactly as they need to given their lesson here on the planet. I do have somewhat of a different mindset these days, after doing near death research I realised that we do live on and our purpose here is to love each other, if we don’t it hurts. When we lie to ourselves it hurts. So perhaps if we tune into what feels good we may discover that this is good for us. I am not speaking about pursuing pleasures that feel temporarily good I am speaking of joy that rises up even doing simple things. You just know yo are in alignment with your truth. For me this is successive, as I keep stepping on the stones of joy that lead me to my stairway to heaven, perhaps.
So I say to those not fitting in, no-one does. It is fine. Just learn to live your own truth but don’t stop others from being who they are, particularly if you don’t agree. Let everyone walk their path in peace and find your own. There are no mistakes and there are no failures. We are exactly where we need to be.
Enjoy this song, it triggered this blog for me. I am a dreamer, a thinker, a feeler and a person who makes things happen. Most importantly I am choosing to live out of who I am, that feels great. Patch Adams says ‘everyone is great’. So why not get onto being your wonderful self, don’t change to please others, only do it if you feel happy. Self honesty is the highest love.
