Choosing World Peace or World Insecurity?
The case for the choice of creating a world at peace with itself and others and a world that increasingly creates insecurity through the use of violence as a means of control and security.
Peace is the precipice upon which we all stand. Do we fly?
For thousands of years of the world has chosen to solve its problems through force and violence as a means of instilling fear to gain obedience to prevailing norms determined by governing elites.
This process has been effective in reaching goals that were set by governing elites but at the cost of the sanctity of human life and suppression of the human spirit.
The advent of economic systems as a means of distribution of goods and services, or what is termed as economies of scale, have been effective in mass producing products at a cheaper price to the community. However, the format of agriculture has followed linear systems of mass cultivation and harvesting without regard to the natural inter-connections and dynamics of ecology. This has translated into the underlying conflict between the way we have chosen to supply needs and wants and the basic system of ecology which works through genetically coded signals, ecological boundaries and cyclic processes that ensure the stable self regulation of nature to meet all needs without excess.
The ecological and economic systems reflect the natural laws versus human made systems and the contrast of the two systems enables us to see where the collapse is impending in human affairs. Ultimately nature is a genetic process of natural selection of the most efficient characteristics that maintain homeostasis or harmony between species, organisms and temperature. This is not unlike the human body in balance ingesting healthy sustenance, positive and empowering family dynamics, wellbeing and life purpose in harmony with the individual and natural order. This produces cooperation and inner security amongst people and the natural world. The natural world is a flowing energy system that has perfected the imperfections or changes enabling adaptation to externalities. However, the human impact that has not mastered the ability to adapt with nature has changed the dynamic of this system unwittingly due to human disconnection to the very natural system humans are dependent on.
It is important now to explore harmony, cooperation, security and peace of the emerging consciousness of humanity. It is in the changes in human values, awareness, connection to nature and new ways of living that survival of not the fittest, but the most harmonious, will ensure a planet that continues to flourish. A rethink of our philosophy, ethics, past processes and economic systems is in order at this time. If we adhere to the past without questioning what does not work with curiosity we will miss the opportunity to reach our full potential as intelligent and wise beings on this planet. It is in no-one’s interests for nuclear war to break out, for diseases to get out of control or indeed the climate to radically change undermining the very support structures of life on this planet. We are very close to creating collapse, however we are also in the place of wisdom, where we can re-invest humanity’s focus into new models that pre-serves all life.
