Violence is Suppression

VIOLENCE IS SUPPRESSION

Violence is suppression,

Of the voice you do not want to hear,

Yet the whisper of its call,

Is a roll call,

For you are here to learn who you are.

As sure as night follows day,

The truth will find you,

It matters not where you hide,

For you can run,

You can avoid,

You can ignore,

But it will come to you,

It is the ghost from your past,

That has unfinished business,

For until we meet ourselves,

We will never know,

The future that awaits our welcome.

Some may argue that violence is necessary,

It is a necessary violence,

It is our only defence,

For defence against attack is justifiable,

Attack against defences is viable,

For pre-emption protects first,

Asks questions later,

Yet even this is a disguise,

For violence is the tool of the coward,

For a true hero will never raise a hand,

Against himself,

For it is when you see yourself in another,

That you release your humanity,

From the prison of your mind.

Propaganda is used without boundaries,

For it crosses international boundaries,

Carried on the waves of air,

That have no substance only crafted words,

Aiming at your allegiance,

Aimed at your innocence,

Aimed at your compliance,

For they are manufacturing your consent,

On the back of third world countries.

When will you awaken?

When will you see?

When will you be?

Able to stand for yourself,

To no longer listen to the crowd,

To longer follow the lies,

To look through the haze,

Of cynical newspaper columns,

Presenting facts in rows,

Of conformity.
